When I started this journey back in 2020, my goal was simple: I wanted to become a better writer, explore new foods, and spend more time outdoors. What I didn’t realize was just how much this little idea would grow into something that has shaped the past six years of my life.

That spark became the Falls Here project — dcfallshere.com, mdfallshere.com, njfallshere.com, nyfallshere.com, pafallshere.com, phlfallshere.com, vafallshere.com — and youfallhere.com. Each one is about adventure, exploration, and capturing those moments that make life richer.

🌊 My Favorite Waterfall

Of all the waterfalls I’ve seen, Taughannock Falls outside of Ithaca, New York, is my favorite. I’ve made the trip every season for years now, and every single time that last bend in the trail makes my heart race. It’s breathtaking, peaceful, and somehow different every time I visit. I’ve even brought friends and family just to watch their faces when they see it for the first time. The whole Finger Lakes region is magical — with spots like Buttermilk Falls and Hector Falls adding to its charm.

🍴 My Best Foodie Experience

Food has been such an important part of this adventure, and one of my best foodie memories is at The Hamilton in Washington, DC. While working in the city, I was lucky enough to discover their late-night happy hour — fresh sushi, amazing vibes, and a crowd that made every visit fun. I may have overindulged a few times, but those nights brought new friendships that still last today. For me, food isn’t just about the flavors — it’s about the memories and connections tied to it.

📸 How Photography Found Me

I first got into photography years ago when a friend lent me his Nikon D70 before a trip to Niagara Falls. At first, I just wanted a few snapshots, but I quickly realized it was something more. Learning to set up a shot, chasing the right light, and framing a story through the lens — I was hooked. Since then, I’ve invested in my gear, my eye, and my passion. Photography turned from an experiment into a lifelong love.

🌍 Why I Keep Going

What ties it all together — the waterfalls, the food, the photos — is my love of adventure. I live by a simple motto: “What can I touch today?” Sometimes that means jumping in the car for an hour-long drive, and sometimes it’s mapping out a week-long road trip. Either way, it’s about finding those hidden gems, that perfect short rib you’ll never forget, or that golden-hour sunset that sticks with you long after the sun has set.

This project is about sharing those moments. And hopefully, inspiring all to find your own.
